We recently had the exterior of our house repainted (we live in an HOA so it's nothing exciting or blogworthy) and although we had to stick with a pretty boring color scheme, beige on beige on beige, one thing I was determined to have was a black front door. It's probably not the smartest choice from a maintenance standpoint considering Phoenix is the land of blowing dust but a girl wants what she wants.
There is something so classic and instantly elegant about a black door. Black makes just about everything look better, don't you think? The hardware on the door below is so gorgeous but set against a glossy black door it really shines.
Black doors look just as striking from the exterior especially against crisp white tongue and groove.
I love how a black door, windows and stair rail elevate this red brick exterior into something extra chic.
I also love the look of black window casings and mullions like these in Nate Berkus' kitchen.
I dream of black mullions on all my windows. The following images just might have you wondering how much work it would really be to repaint all of your windows black. Scroll through at your own risk.
Now you've done it. Well, if you're going to spend your weekends repainting your doors and/or windows, I might as well recommend a couple of black paint colors to help you out. Here are my go to black paints:
Dunn Edwards #DEA187 "Black"
Sherwin Williams #SW6258 "Tricorn Black"
